I love a cup of coffee pretty much any time, day or night. Yep, I’m one of those people. Here are some of my favorite places to grab a coffee in Ericeira, Portugal. (In fact, I’m writing this article while drinking coffee in town right now!)
Balagan
Balagan is a Mediterranean restaurant and cafe right on the beach at Praia do Sul, and they sure do know their way around a cup of coffee. This is one of my favorite spots to go for beautiful specialty coffees like cappuccinos and lattes, and it’s a nice spot to meet with friends for a morning (or afternoon, or anytime!) coffee break.
Downstairs is a cafe where you can get bakery treats and delicious breakfast dishes, and upstairs is a restaurant that’s open for lunch and dinner. (Balagan also happens to be one of my favorite restaurants in Ericeira!)
Dear Rose Cafe
Dear Rose is a tiny coffee shop located in the center of town near Praia dos Pescadores. They have great coffees with delicious baked goods, including vegan bakery options. They also have a food menu, but because the cafe is so tiny this is usually my go-to spot for getting a cappuccino for takeaway. Plus, you’re right by the lookout point over Praia dos Pescadores so you can enjoy your coffee with a sea view.
Tiger and Chick
Tucked away on a little side street just off the town square, you can grab a delightful coffee at Tiger and Chick cafe. They serve nice coffees all day (9:30am – 4:00pm) and there are also delicious pastries and baked goods available. It’s a cozy spot with a few indoor and outdoor tables, and a cool passthrough window that gives the whole cafe an indoor-outdoor feel.
Sunset Bamboo
Sunset Bamboo is another one of my go-to spots for coffee in Ericeira. Sunset Bamboo has a wide variety of specialty coffees and a great location near the town square. They serve breakfast and lunch dishes as well, and this is a great place for grabbing a coffee on the go or grabbing an outdoor table and enjoying the sunshine.
The Capsule Cafe
A new coffee spot in town is The Capsule Cafe. They serve food, drinks, and natural wine, and their coffee menu has traditional coffees as well as more unique options like hand brews, pumpkin spice lattes, and homemade coffee kombucha.
Villa Brunch Cafe
Finally, Villa Brunch Cafe is a great option for breakfast with a well-made coffee. Villa Brunch Cafe has a large menu of breakfast classics, and there’s a great outdoor patio with quirky furniture and colorful decorations. My go-to dish is the Benedict Eggs with a Cappuccino or Café Duplo.
